Connor Yonchuk Credits USLCI and Safety Equipment for Being OK After Scary Flip at World Finals

Connor Yonchuk flip at the 2024 Legend Car Road Course World Finals at VIR

Legend Car Semi-Pro driver Connor Yonchuk wanted to be known for winning the Road Course World Finals feature at VIRginia International Raceway on Sunday, November 17, however, he instead is known for walking away from a wild and scary flip.

Early on in the feature, Yonchuk was running up towards the front of the field when a car slowed ahead drastically. Yonchuk’s car ramped off another car, which sent his ride into the air sideways. When the car hit the ground, it dug into the grass, starting a very fast five full roll flip in the matter of a few seconds.

The car came to rest back on it’s wheels, and soon after, Yonchuk was able to climb out of the car on his own.

A video of the wreck can be seen below.

Legends Nation contacted Yonchuk on Wednesday, just a few days after his scary flip to see how is was doing.

“I am great, actually,” Yonchuk told LN. “I had a headache Monday, but other than that I feel great. It shows how safe those cars are and how good safety equipment is nowadays.”

Yonchuk credits the safety of the cars and his team for walking away unscathed.

“I have to thank U.S. Legend Cars International and Race Driven Performance for giving me a safe car, and thank you to Radical Race Gear for the safe racing equipment. I also want to thank everyone who reached out to see if I was okay.”
