On Monday, April 7, CARS Tour West published a notice on their social media that could affect some younger drivers wanting to participate in the July 26 Legends Tour West event at Colorado National Speedway (CO).
According to the notice, series officials address the INEX Racing Series rule of allowing drivers 10 years of age to compete in Legends events. The notice states it is up to the track to allow drivers down to that age to compete, and the track will monitor all drivers during their first practice on whether they will be approved to race.
According to the 2025 INEX Racing Series rulebook, this is well within the rights of any track or promoter that hosts an INEX-sanctioned Legends event. The rulebook states:
“Any Driver under 18 years of age must receive approval to compete from the Track Promoter prior to the Event, to be eligible to compete at that Track. The Track Promoter’s decision is FINAL. INEX has no authority in this matter, or any Track matters, regarding Driver’s age.”
