Texas Ruled Out for 2026 Spring Nationals, But 2027 In Play

2027 Spring Nationals Speculation in Texas

One of the big events for Legend Cars and Bandoleros during the early part of the racing season is the Spring Nationals, which has taken place in Tennessee. The 2025 version of the event split time between Veteran’s Motorplex at the Rim and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. However, LN learned earlier this year the 2026 event might move locations, including possibly to Texas.

LN reached out to INEX today (September 24, 2025), to get an update on the event for next season. Even though the event moving to Texas in 2026 is not the plan, it is in play for 2027.

“We have seen significant growth and interest in the Legend Car market in Texas thanks to the efforts of those in Houston,” said Josh Roller, Communications Manager for U.S. Legend Cars International and INEX Racing Series. “We have enough interest from the community as a whole across the country to consider an event in Texas, too. We have a couple options for the 2026 Spring Nationals, but Texas is not one of them. Texas is however on our radar for 2027.”

Texas Independent Racing resurrected Legend Car racing a few years ago at Houston Motorsports Park’s HMP Oval Track, and this year they went under INEX sanctioning with car counts dramatically increasing. The Houston track is currently the only facility racing Legends with Bandoleros just starting up this year. The 2027 Spring Nationals, if held in Texas, could be there, or possibly return to the front stretch quarter-mile oval at Texas Motor Speedway.

For the 2026 Spring Nationals, a location for the event could return to Nashville in Tennessee, or end up somewhere else in the Nation.

What do you think? Where would you like the 2026 Spring Nationals? If Texas gets the 2027 event, do you want it at HMP or at Texas Motor Speedway? Tell us on the LN Facebook page by clicking here.
