Marion County Speedway reopened for fall racing this past weekend. Legend cars were back in action with two heat races. Heat race 1 winner Bill Gise held off a hard charging Austin Furman and Lacy Kuehl, both making their return to the series for the season.

Heat race 2 winner Brett Jenkins drove a patient and calculated race, coming from the 3rd position to make a late race pass on second place finisher, young Hunter Harmon with Hasaan Chehouri holding onto a close 3rd.

The feature race got underway with outside pole sitter Brett Jenkins getting the jump on your pole sitter, Bill Gise. After the dust settled from the first few laps the crowd saw Jenkins out front with a gap back to Harmon and Furman. After a few cautions and restarts the end of the race was shaping up to be a battle for the win between Furman and Jenkins. Final lap action saw Furman take a look to the outside in turn one and then cross over to get door to door around the final turn. With sparks flying and cars sideways Furman narrowly edged out Jenkins to the line with Harmon just a few feet behind.
