Slinger Super Speedway on Track to be Sold; Racing Action Will Continue

Slinger Speedway

Usually when information hits the internet a race track is being sold, it is a sad occasion as the new property owner has no interest in keeping the race track open, instead removing it and using the land for another purpose. However, one track sale that appears imminent will continue on as the new owners are part of the racing community.

Late on Monday evening, track owners Todd and Elizabeth Thelen posted a message on the track’s Facebook page announcing the pending sale of the speedway. Within the message, they state the new potential buyers, which have not been named at this time, are local, and used to be race fans until they became racers themselves. Additionally, the message stated there is no anticipated schedule changes for the upcoming 2025 racing season.

“A message from track owners, Todd and Elizabeth Thelen:

There is a pending sale of Slinger Super Speedway.

Having been involved with the “business side” of Slinger Speedway since 2005, fans since the late 70’s, and a Super Late Model racer in the late 90’s to early 2000’s we knew that if we ever stepped away, it needed to be under the right circumstances. Most importantly, we needed to be assured that it would remain a racetrack. That time may have arrived. We are pleased to announce that local buyers are in the process of purchasing the speedway. The potential buyers also began as fans, transitioned into racers, and are excited to take the track into the next chapter of its historic existence. Their names will be released when the process is complete; please respect our/their decision to not release names at this time. While we wish we could have told all of our friends, teams, and partners personally, stories are starting to circulate. We are sharing this news here to lead and help facilitate a smooth transition as Slinger Speedway enters its new stage of growth. As of right now, there are no anticipated schedule changes for the upcoming season. We thank you for your support over the years, and look forward to continuing to see you at the track.”
