Team F4V Bidding to Retain Elite Cup Masters Title at Knockhill

Team F4V Knockhill preview 2024

Team F4V Media Release –

•    Horley’s Nathan Anthony aims to repeat Elite Cup glory with 2024 success
•    Final two rounds of Legends Cars Elite Cup this weekend at Knockhill
•    Team F4V second in Elite Cup points going into series finale with BTCC

Legends Cars Championship mainstay Nathan Anthony is preparing for the decisive final two rounds of the series’ Elite Cup at Knockhill in Scotland this coming weekend, 10th/11th August, where he is aiming to retain the ‘Masters Cup’ class title he won on Scottish soil last season.

Horley-based Nathan, who pilots the unmistakable No.29 yellow and blue Se-Van in Legends Cars, heads into rounds five and six of the Elite Cup – which also form rounds nine and 10 of the overall Championship season – second in the Masters battle.

Just 60 points separate the Team F4V racer from current Elite Cup Masters leader Nick Bridgeman, and with 200 points available for an overall race win, down to 20 points for 18th place and 10 points for each finisher thereafter, there is a huge amount to play for over the weekend’s six Legends races.

Thousands of spectators are expected to file through the gates at Knockhill, not least as the event marks the annual visit to Scotland of the British Touring Car Championship. The three Elite Cup race meetings, the two previous having taken place at Donington Park in April and Brands Hatch in May, run exclusively at BTCC events and therefore also benefit from superb television coverage.

Sunday’s action, certainly the second and third races of the round six finale, will be screened live on ITV4 and also streamed across ITVX, meaning tens of thousands of armchair enthusiasts will be able to follow the spectacular Legends Cars action.

The 2024 campaign has been somewhat mixed for Nathan, but when mechanical issues or on-track dramas haven’t created an impact his pace in his trusty Se-Van has been impressive and there have been multiple outright top 10 results. His best overall finish of the campaign was a sixth place at his home track, Brands Hatch, in June at the huge American Speedfest race meeting.

With his sights set firmly on mounting the best challenge possible at Knockhill, first Nathan has the task of making the near 500-mile journey to Fife from the team’s base in Horley, near Gatwick. As always for the weekend’s racing, he will have key support from sponsors First 4 Vans, Towergate Insurance, Blue Lizard, Blue Chip Warranty, Creative Funding Solutions, Moove and Mowermate.

Nathan Anthony:
“Knockhill will be a big weekend for us, not least the length of the journey there and back! I’m looking forward to being back there, we’re not too far behind in the Masters points in the Elite Cup and I really would love to retain the title. Nick [Bridgeman] is a quick driver and a good competitor, so we’ve got our work cut out, but hopefully we can have speed and consistency at the weekend.

“It’s an incredibly tight and twisty track, and a very short lap as well, so there’s always so much going on in the Legends races around Knockhill. You’ve really got to have your wits about you, especially with such a big grid, so scoring well in every race will be absolutely key to our chances. One thing’s for sure, we’ll be trying as hard as we can to keep hold of our title.”

Legends Cars will be on track at 09.10 on Saturday, 10th August, at Knockhill for qualifying practice with Heat One of round five of the Elite Cup – round nine of the Championship – beginning at 11.40, ahead of Heat Two at 14.20 and the Final at 17.05.

On Sunday, 11th August, Heat One of Elite Cup round six – round 10 of the Championship – is set to start at 09.15, Heat Two at 12.25 and the Final at 16.30. The latter two races, at least, are expected to be live on ITV4 and ITVX.
