The East Coast Legend Series headed to Path Valley Speedway Park (PA) on Saturday, April 6. In the feature, Jeremy Ott drove to the victory over Colton Friese and Steven Partin. Full race story from the series below.
Spring Run, PA (April 6, 2024)- Carlisle, PA’s Jeremy Ott claimed a $400 payday, and his 31st overall Legends Victory, when he raced his way to Victory Lane at Path Valley Speedway Park, Saturday, in the East Coast Legend Series feature event.
Ott started fifth in the 27-car feature, and he quickly made his way to the front. There, he fought tooth and nail with Tanner Jones before grabbing the lead for good late in the going to claim the checkered flag. Jones, who ran a strong race, slipped back in the waning laps to finish fifth.
Colton Friese ran near the front of the field all day and finished in the runner-up position, Steven Partin made the long tow from Peebles, Ohio, and raced his way to finish third after starting 11th. Logan Carbaugh had a good race and finished fourth. Jones rounded out the top-five.
Mike Kelley raced his way to an impressive sixth-place finish, while defending champion, Devin Friese, finished seventh after starting 27th. Rick Hartwig put forth a strong effort to claim eighth, and Cory Phillips had a solid effort to take ninth. Scott Montgomery rounded out the top-10, matching his 10th-place effort the prior race at BAPS.
Ott, Colton Friese and Carbaugh won the heat races, which awarded $25 to the winners.
The race was marred by a lap-two accident when Tyler Kaylor’s throttle stuck wide open as he entered turn three. Kaylor slammed the outside retaining wall and rolled three times. Bree Kaylor, Tyler’s wife, indicated on her social media that Tyler suffered three fractured ribs and was discharged from the hospital at 2 a.m. Sunday.
The East Coast Legend Series returns to action this Saturday, April 13 at BAPS Motor Speedway.
