Today the Showdown Series has officially announced their inaugural 2026 season of racing action with a massive schedule for Legends and Bandoleros across North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Brad Hockaday, owner of Professional MotorSports Solutions, has taken his Winter Showdown concept at Auburndale Speedway in Florida, as well as the recently-announced Spring Showdown at Elko Speedway in Minnesota, to the tracks in the south with a massive positive reception. There will be 35+ races, taking place mostly on Fridays and Saturdays. Kicking off the series season will be Friday and Saturday at Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina, with stops at Coastal Plains Raceway (NC), Dominion Raceway (VA), Shenandoah Speedway (VA), Hickory Motor Speedway (NC), Florence Motor Speedway (SC) Tri-County Motor Speedway (NC), Franklin County Speedway (VA), Ace Speedway (NC), Carteret County Speedway (NC), Kingsport Speedway (TN), Newport Speedway (TN), Southern National Motorsports Park (NC), Dillon Motor Speedway (SC), and more tracks to be named in the future.
“When I developed the concept of the Showdown Series, I wondered if there would be some pushback from the tracks,” Hockaday told LN. “However, once we explained how the series will work from the front end to the backend, we couldn’t answer our messages fast enough. More tracks want to be a part of the series, even ones out of our four-state spread, but we are running low on race weekends to schedule races. We have a few we are waiting to firm up and some we are working to fill, but the full season of racing has been something drivers, teams, and tracks have gotten on board 100%.”
Bandoleros and Legends are scheduled to race at every Showdown Series event, except at Newport Speedway (no Bandoleros). Multiple events will be National Qualifiers as well, with an event at Southern National being a combination oval and roval layout. The series will crown champions at the end of the year with drops for those that can’t make it to every event (28 races for Legends and 26 for Bandoleros will count towards points totals).
Rules and point structure to be released after the new year. Bandoleros will be on a common rule for all tracks, so running the series will be consistent at every track. Additionally, the Showdown Series will utilize the Liteceiver at all events.
