Within 24 hours from their announcement they will not host the Winter Nationals event in February, Citrus County Speedway (FL) clarified their status of racing in 2025, which will include Legends and Bandoleros, just not under INEX sanctioning.
On Thursday, the track posted on their Facebook page they received a letter from INEX stating they will not be the host track for the Winter Nationals event, which takes place in February. Within the post, the track stated they will not run races under INEX sanctioning for Bandoleros.
“While races at CCS will not be sanctioned events going forward, Ray said the racetrack will continue to support local Bandolero racing.
“We will continue to support the local Bandolero drivers and provide them a place to compete and improve their skills,” CCS Track Promoter William Ray said. “They are the future of our sport of auto racing.””
The initial statement made no mention of Legends racing at the track, which sparked speculation they will only race Bandoleros, not Legends, in 2025. Multiple questions flowed in on the topic, which was then edited by track staff to include Legends in their statement.
“While races at CCS will not be sanctioned events going forward, Ray said the racetrack will continue to support local Bandolero and Legend Cars racing.”
Furthermore, the track responded to a few of the statements, including the rumor Legends wouldn’t race at the track due to the initial statement leaving off Legends, stating “What you heard is not correct. We are racing Legend Cars and Bandoleros all next year.” They also linked to their 2025 schedule, which has Legends and Bandoleros during the season. The track did again reiterate their races will not be INEX points.
