Path Valley Speedway owners and crews took a chance on running their Saturday evening race between rainstorms and made a successful call, concluding their entire program on a surface which took hours to prepare, including intermission time touch-ups.
The popular Legend Cars were next on the racing card as Bill Deihl and Cody Altland brought the 24 car field to the green. An immediate caution was thrown when Justin Wagaman got against the turn two wall, as Colton Friese and Mike Racine came to a stop in the turns 1 and 2 infield. The restart had Bill Deihl, Altland, Richie Dobson, Rick Hartwig and Eric Hurst sitting in the top five. On green Altland passed Deihl with 6th place starter Devin Friese coming by Hurst, Hartwig, Dobson and Deihl to take second place by lap 5. Hurst’s racer had started to slow down on lap four, then exiting the oval on lap five under caution. Altland brought the racers to green but Friese took the lead with Deihl pulling in behind him, as Seth Kearchner passed Altland taking the third position. Eight laps were complete when a caution came out for Caleb Masse who had come to a stop in turn four. Friese, Deihl, Kearchner, Altland and Travis Perry were sitting in the top five on green; but Perry advanced to fourth on the next lap and Hartwig pulled by Altland to take fifth by lap 12. The competition in the top five was becoming heated as Friese held the lead but Kearchner and Perry passed Deihl to take 2nd and 3rd and Rick Hartwig finished out the top five as Friese collected the checkered. Devin Friese had the fastest lap time going 68,997 MPH in 13.044 seconds.
